In 2021, on November 2, Election Day, the City of Hartford will hold an election for the four members of the Board of Education who are to be elected by the people. Elected Board of Education members serve a term of four years.
There are nine members on the Hartford Board of Education. In addition to the elected members, the City of Hartford Mayor appoints five members. The Board of Education (BOE) must have Minority Party representation. At no time can more than three (3) of the members appointed by the Mayor be members of the same political party and, with respect to the elected members, the maximum number of members from the same political party shall be three (3). Candidates for the Board of Education shall be elected with party designation.
The election calendar starts in July 2021 for this very important election.
